    Fixes

If the servers are up, try these first

    1. Fully quit and restart Steam. If Steam drops into offline mode, the game can't connect to the servers.
    2. Verify the game files. Steam › Library › Deadlock › Properties › Installed Files › Verify integrity of game files.
    3. Wait for the update. If a new patch is downloading, you can't queue until it finishes.
    4. Turn off VPNs and network boosters. Being routed to the wrong region causes lag and disconnects.
    5. Remove mods. After an update, old mods can stop the game from starting (mods guide).
    6. Restart your router or use a wired connection. If only you keep disconnecting, the problem is most likely your network.
    Questions

    Frequently asked questions

How can I tell if Deadlock is down?
Every minute this page checks the live match list from the game's Watch tab, match counts by region and the Steam connection. If the list stops refreshing or match counts drop far below normal for this hour, the servers are having problems. Player reports are shown as a second signal.
Why won't Deadlock start or find a match?
The most common causes are a new update (servers restart for a few minutes), Steam’s weekly maintenance and regional connection issues. If the servers are up, the problem is most likely your connection or your game files; try the steps below.
    When is Steam maintenance?
Steam goes down for a short maintenance every Tuesday afternoon (US Pacific time). During it, sign-in, the friends list and matchmaking can break for a few minutes.
What happens when I report a problem?
Your report is counted, and if reports in the last 30 minutes go well above normal, the page says “there may be a problem”. Your identity and IP address are not stored; one report is accepted per connection every 15 minutes.
