Privacy and cookies
Here you'll find which data we use and why, what each cookie does and how to change your preference.
In short
- You don't need an account to use the site.
- No analytics or advertising cookies are used unless you allow them. Declining doesn't turn off any feature.
- We don't sell your data. We measure to see which parts of the site work and how our ads perform.
- You can change your preference at any time.
Data controller
hiddenking.gg is an independent community site made by players and is part of the VGNW community sites (vgnw.net). This text is meant to inform you under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
For questions and requests, you can message the admin team via our Discord server.
What data do we process?
Needed to run the site (no consent required)
- Server and security logs: your IP address, browser info, the address you opened and the time. To prevent attacks and find bugs, our own server and our content delivery service Cloudflare process them.
- Browser storage: your language choice, your draft room keys, the rooms you viewed last and your cookie preference. These stay only in your browser.
- If you sign in: your VGNW account name and profile picture; if you linked them, your Steam account number and Discord ID. A session cookie is used for sign-in.
- Player and match searches: the Steam account or match ID you search for is sent to Deadlock-API to fetch public game data.
Analytics (only with your consent)
- Google Analytics: the pages you visit, the links and buttons you click, searches you make on the site, where you came from (search engine, ad, another site), device and browser type, approximate location (country, city). Google Analytics does not store your IP address; we don't know who you are, your browser is just given a random ID. Invite, session and security keys in addresses are removed before anything is sent.
- Microsoft Clarity: session recordings and heatmaps made from clicks, scrolls and mouse movements on the page. What you type into input fields is not recorded; it is masked.
Ad measurement (only with your consent)
- Google ad cookies: remember if you arrived by clicking a Google ad. This lets us see how many people an ad brought to the site and whether those visitors went on to use it. Google may also use this information for ad measurement and personalization under its own rules.

The Twitch and YouTube players on the streams and esports pages apply their own cookies and rules when you start them. YouTube videos open via the privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com).
Legal basis, transfers and retention
- Legal basis: the processing needed to run the site and keep it secure rests on the grounds in Article 5/2 of KVKK (providing the service, legitimate interest). Analytics and advertising cookies are used only with your explicit consent (Article 5/1); you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Transfers abroad: Google, Microsoft and Cloudflare servers are located abroad. When these services are used, data is transferred abroad under these companies' data processing agreements and safeguards.
- Retention: detailed visitor- and event-level data in Google Analytics is deleted after 14 months; aggregate numbers not tied to anyone (e.g. a month's total visits) may stay in reports longer. Clarity keeps session recordings for 30 days; recordings flagged for review and heatmap data may be kept longer under Microsoft's rules, for up to 13 months. You can delete the information in your browser at any time from your browser settings.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to learn whether your personal data is being processed, to request information, to learn the purpose, to know who it is transferred to, to ask for it to be corrected if incomplete or wrong or deleted, to object to a result against you produced by automated analysis, and to request compensation if you suffered harm. You can send your request to the admin team via our Discord server.
